I went into labour on (
MY DUE DATE ) the 22nd of january at 8.45pm. Contractions were coming every 15 mins lasting for 40 seconds... I got in the shower because my back was so bad!(
he was back on back ) it was the only way to help with my back pain!! By 2 o'clock they were coming ever 5 mins last 1 min and 30 seconds.. i rang birth suite at about 3.30 and they told me to come in.. i was admitted strtaight away at ... my back pain was getting worse and worse by the minute. when i went to the birth suite they checked me at 4am i was 3cm and they said i was 100% effaced. My personal midwife melinda arrived at 6am then i went straight into the shower i didnt get out until 2 hours later when they wanted to check me again.. at 8am i was 6cm dilated and again straight back into the shower.. My wonderful partner Bronson was the best thing i could have asked for during labour he stood there holding the shower head on my back the entire time
I love him so much!! by 12 oclock i was so tired i was falling asleep in the shower in between contractions.. of course i was sitting on a chair.. so again at 12 noon they checked and i was 8cm. by this time my back pain was excruciating i was literally screaming everytime i got a contraction..by 4pm they said i was 7cm and i wasnt completely effaced... they said a part of the cervix hadnt thinned out properly so i had a bit that was thicker than every were else.. so i went back into the shower and started to feel the urge to push but the mid wives told me not to push because i wasnt 10cm yet but i couldnt help it.. They were saying there was a possiblity i had to have a c section becuase of the thicker bit in my cervix. so they tried to put a canular in my arm but they couldnt find any of my veins cause they are really deep. It took them 5 times to try and put it in. My midwife melinda then came and told me that she had to leave because she could only work 12 hours shifts, so i had to get another mid wife.. This really pissed me off becuase i went though mgp which says that the midwife who is assigned to you will be at your birth no matter what!! So me having to get another midwife pissed me off.. luckily the next midwife i got was a friend of mines midwife who she had in her birth. So i knew her a little bit.. Any way she came in at 6 and say i was pushing so she checked me and said i was 10cm and she saw my bloody show so he told me it was time to start pushing!! I got into the shower and started to push but my back pain was unbearable so i got water injections to take some of the pain off but it didnt really work.. so at 8.30pm after 2 and a half hours of pushing i was told that i wasnt progressing so i had to have an
EMERGENCY C SECTION not because of the thicker bit in my cervix but because his head was coming out the wrong way.. it is surpossed to come out from the top but his was coming tilted on the side. they said he was probably wedged in there a while before labour even started.. so i was taken to the operating room ( what ever its called) at 8.45 they put the spinal tap in, i can say it didnt hurt as much i thought it would!! My whole pregnancy i was against an epidural and spinal tap i thought it would hurt really bad and i was so determined not to have a c section because the thought of getting cut open made me really scared but it wasnt so bad.. At 9 oclock they brought bronson in he sat next to me while they cut him out..
Charlie was born at 9.10pm after a 24 hour 25 min labour resulting in a emergency c section!!
He weighed 8 pounds and 12 ounces!! 3980 grams!
He was 54cm long1
He was also born with a full head of black hair!! Thank GOD!!! he could have been a RANGA!!
