My name is Sky. I am 19 years old and mother to a beautiful baby girl named Ava Brook. She was born on March 5th 2012. I had a natural birth in the hospital. I went into labor on March 4th around 5 or 6pm after having sex with my husband. I waited around at home until 8:30 and we got to the hospital at 9pm. When I got there the nurse checked me and I was 4cm dilated and paper thin so they said they were going to admit me and I wasn't leaving without my baby. I hardly felt any contractions until they had to start me on pitocin and break my water to get things moving. That's when it started to hurt. When I got to 8cm I almost gave up and got the epidural but my husband talked me out of it because he knew I really wanted to go natural. My husband was so much help throughout my whole labor and if it weren't for him I wouldn't have been able to do it. I started to push at about 10:30am and she arrived at 12:50 pm weighing in at 7lbs and 7oz and 20in long. When you have a baby you never expect anything to go wrong and it was the last thing in mind, I never thought in a million years anything would happen to MY baby... They put her in my arms and let me hold her for a few minutes before whisking her away to the NICU to get checked out due to some breathing issues. Turned out she had inhaled some fluids during labor that caused her to get pneumonia. Needless to say, my husband and I were terrified. She was in the NICU for a whole week on antibiotics to make sure everything had cleared up before we got to take her home. Now she's a healthy, happy baby and doing great. She's extremely easy to take care and hardly ever fusses. We couldn't be happier
