Joined a little late into my pregnancy. Even so my name is Melanie.. cant decide which last name to put so I just wont put any! I accidently conceived my little monster on July 4 and found out of the pregnancy a few weeks later on my birtday(July 25). While its true that I'm only 17, I think my partner and I have done more than many pregnant teens have. He finished with school two years ago and I had a year left, with that in mind I recieved my G.E.D and will be starting college in the fall. Josue and I also moved in together and have our 2bdrm all set up! Big changes come with a baby and were up for this challenge, but its always nice to hear from other moms. So even if your 37 not 17 I know your body is creating a miracle just like mine.

What was your first symptom?: morning sickness, missed period.
Pre-Pregnancy Weight?: 136 lbs
Current Relationship Status?: In One- Steady.
Pregnancy Prevention Method?: Condoms- except for 4th of July weekend.


ABOUT THE PREGNANCY
Is this your First Pregnancy?: Yes.
When did you find out you were pregnant?: July 25th. I was planning on going out that night since it was my birthday and went into the Dr.'s because of an upset stomache. By noon I was calling Josue to tell him the surprising news.
Was it planned?: No
When is your due date?: March 26, 2012
What was your first reaction?: "What the hell is wrong with you? Dont congradulate me! I'm barely 17!'' So I was pretty angry, and a bit shocked.
Who was with you when you found out?: I was alone.
How far along are you right now?: 39 weeks
Have you had an ultra sound?: Yes
Have you heard the heartbeat?: Yes
Any Stretch Marks yet?: Only on my breasts.
Are you Still with the Father of the Baby?: Why wouldnt I be?
How Long Have You and Baby's Father Been Together?: Since April 24, 2011(friends much longer though)
Did you have morning sickness?: I have Hypermesis Gravidarum

Are you happy with what you are having?: Yes, we are both very happy.


ABOUT THE BIRTH
Who is going to be with you?: Josue, and my grandmother depending upon if she feels up to it.
Are you going to video tape it?: NO!! But we will be taking pictures of everything before and after the pushing.
Natural or medicated? Planning on completely natural, but this is my first so we'll see.
Do you think you will have a c-section?: .No, I've kept my weight down and been faithful in my exercises. Besides, I have wide set hips.  
Do you think you will cry when you first hold your baby?: I’m not sure.. I dont think so but I hear every mom does.
Do you know what you will say to the baby when you first hold it?: If anything it will be 'You see that man there(pointing to Josue).. thats your daddy.. '
Are you scared about the labor?: No. I've already came to terms with the fact that its not going to be pleasant. Afteral, this pregnancy has been rough and long so I'm looking foreward to those painful hours. Expecially since I'll get to hold my son afterwards.
Natural birth or hospital?: Hospital
Will you breastfeed? .Yes! Up to a year on the breast if possible.. followed by another 6 months of pumped milk. Again, if my body will let me.

Is your baby going to be named after anyone?: Nope, he is one of a kind.
What's the name?: Kai Daniel A.
Did you and the father agree on the name together? Yes, actually. Before we even knew the sex it was the only name we could agree on. Ironically since we fought the entire month before our sono as to what a girl would be named. It took awhile to decide the middle name since Josue doesnt have one- so we went with what he was almost named. Daniel(pronounced with a spanish ancent.)
