Ok, So it all started on Monday morning, When I woke up at 6:30 with contractions, The silly contractions lingered on all day, And by the end of the day I was ready to just go in, even though the hopital told me to wait until I was in serious pain, because I was going in, in the morning to get induced anyway.
So I waited and tried to get as much sleep as I posibly could, which I got maybe an hour, in between all the contractions. Which were occuring anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes apart.. well at about 2 am, I woke up and was in excruiciating pain(or what I thought was excruiciating pain- little did I know!)
I jumped in the bath thinking that if I could just dull the pain a little then I could get ready to go in at 4:00 am, and get induced.. I did. So at about 3:00 am we left to go to L&D to get induced.. the ride seemed like it took forever!
When I got there I told them about how I had been contracting since 6:30 the day before.. they put me on the monitors and checked me for dialation.. little did I know I was already dilated to a four. So they decided to skip the cervic cream stuff. At about 7:00am they broke my water. Then the contractions really started coming, but I wanted to hold out on getting an epi for as long as I could. After they broke my water my contractions were becoming more irregular, so the decided to start the pitocin, that's when I decided to get the epi Pitocin really does suck!
At about this time I was getting extremely sleepy, due to no sleep for like 2 days. (What felt like 2 years) I tryed to sleep but couldn't because I kept feeling a contraction in one spot, although everything else was numb. So they decided to check me again, and I was a full 10, but not fully effaced. So they waited a little longer and checked me again, and told me to start pushing. I pushed and pushed and pushed, and it felt like nothing was happening! They called my doc in anyway. She coached me to push for like an hour, at this point I was exhausted! So she asked if I wanted them to use the vaccum, and I said yes (she was considering doing a c-section.) So she called in her obgyn, (she's a family practioner) I had only met him earlier that morning when he broke my water.
When I heard his voice I was so happy! He sat down, and helped little miss cali come out Without the vaccum I'd probally still be pushing!!
He cut me so that I wouldn't tear, although I ended up tearing in three different places anyway. (ugh painful, I could feel everything when they were sewing me up) Way worse than contractions!!
But in the end all the pain was SOO worth it!!
Here's little miss Cali Lamirra.
