I am a stay at home Mom of one beautiful baby girl named Kaylea. She is 18 months old. I delivered my baby boy Ashton on 4-21-08. I was only 26 weeks pregnant. He wasborn at 5:50 p.m. weighed 1 lb. 1 oz. and 10 1/2in. long.He was a lil fighter! He came out kicking and crying. They put him on the ventilator from the time he was born til the next morning. Then they put him on the C-PAP for like a day/. Then they just put the regular oxygen tubes in his nose and had it on like 30%. He was able to breathe on his own with the tubes for like a week! Unexpectedly, he started to get sick and they put him back on the ventilator the next day. But even after that his SAT's kept dropping (blood oxygen). I stayed at the hospital with him the last 2 days. That Saturday morning I got a call from the NICU and they were telling me they were doing CPR and didn't think he was gonna make it. He died at 7:42 a.m. on 5-3-08. God needed another angel in heaven. This was the first time I held my lil angel...and I didn't want to let him go!! I will miss him sooo much but he's in a better place. I was supposed to get my tubes tied and ended up at a hospital that won't do it. So I think God has a reason for the way everything happened and I think he was preparing me for this to happen. I had a few scares during the pregnancy and had a feeling the whole time that he wasn't going to make it when he was born but I thought I was crazy. Obviously not. And now I still have my baby girl and I will try for another baby in a year and a half. Right now gotta let my body and emotions heal. May take a while.....
I love this ticker because this is how I want to think of Ashton now. He is safe and happy in Heaven with the Lord. I just know he's smiling down on us today.
