Riley Cole entered the world on April 24th, 2008. I was induced April 23rd (due to a lazy cervix), 1 week past her due date, and she came in to the world bright and early at 1:14 am the following day, weighing 7lbs 13oz and 21 inches long. I'm proud to say I nursed for 7 months, 1 month longer than my goal. It was definitely worth it, and I miss that bonding.
I am 22 years old, and am currently a student at the University of Arizona...at first I thought I wanted to follow journalism, but once I got into the program (and nearly done with all my credits) I realized that it would not be a stable job field to get into, and the passion I thought I had for it slowly dwindled away. I now plan on becoming a RN and want to get my BSN...if all goes well I'll be graduating at the age of 26.
Riley's father and I justrecently decided to go our own ways...I'm having a very hard time dealing with it, and haven't made the smartest decisions since then, but I finally feel like I'm putting my life back together and starting to move forward. It's going to be hard, but I (guess) I'd rather have this happen now than have it happen 10 years from now.
I actually found pregnancy and labor to be a very easy and enjoyable thing for me, guess that explains how I gained so much weight (60lbs, whichnow, 18 months later, I'velost completely) . My labor was very easy once my body finally got in the rhythm of things, and I gotta say, I am a huge fan of the epidural. I'm actually quite surprised at how well I've adapted to motherhood considering I was never a "baby person" until I had one.
I've been blessed to have such amazing friends and family supporting me through all this, and I hope one day I can finda man who is just as supportive and loving as they have been.
