alllast visit: 10 hrs agomember since: Mar 6th 2008about me:
well, I am returning to BG   After having Emily (June 6, 200  my entire life went from 0-60 in.010 of a second! Emily was born 5 weeks premature, when she was born she had complications with mucus in her tummy , a hard time breathing, and reflux (very typical for a preemie) when born she was 5lbs 4oz, then we found out the scales had not be calibrated and in fact she was 4lbs10oz and 18.25" long. Her first day into the world she stopped breathing, and turned purple while in her daddys arms. It was the most scary moment in my entire life, Chris and I and a friend of ours in the hospital room visiting when all of the sudden we realized she was turning purple! The doctors called it "dusky spells" she had every test you could imagine, run on her to find out just what was going on.
She was sent home on an apnea monitor to monitor her heart and respiatory rate, at first she had to wear it all day every day, then at about 2 months she only had to wear it at nights, now she is 3 months and the doctors have diagnosed it as Bradycardia. She remains on her monitor at night, but the doctor said if she goes the next two weeks without her heart rate dropping below 75 she will be taken off and no treatment will be needed. Its all just a maturing issue   She is such a happy baby! At 3 months old she was weighing in at 9lbs 14oz
***UPDATE: I come and go with BG lol, it seems I never have time anymore, I'm giving it another shot! Emily is now about 11 months!!! Shes weighing 16lbs and as of this week is finally crawling (the army crawl) she is STILL on her monitor, every night. The last time she had an even was about 2 weeks ago. She has been through so much but she is so tough!
***UPDATE: back again lol, Emily is now 17 months, shes weighing abou 21lbs and as of 2 weeks ago, she is finally walking!! She was taken off of her monitor on her birthday and since then it has been nothing but progress. We are now TTC baby number 2!
