I'm 19 years old and have just welcomed my son Hixon into the world. He was born August 4, 2008 at 8:40pm. He weighed 6lb 3 oz and was 19 1/2 in long.

Being a mom is a crazy feeling. You never realize how much you can honestly love someone until you look your baby in the eyes for the first time. My labor went well I guess. No complications. I actually did it all drug free!!!! not that I intended to or anything lol.
My water broke at 4 a.m. Monday morning and so off we went to the hospital to have a baby. well I was there for a couple of hours and wasn't feeling contractions although I was having them, and at like 10 or 11 a.m. my dr. checked my cervix which was only at about 1 1/2 cm. So at about 12 or 1 they started potossin. WOW that stuff works. later on I ended up with horrible contractions and all I did was cry "I want drugs...Please I want my medicine please!" then finally around like 7 ish or so they checked my cervix and I was dialated 4. I needed to be 5 for my epidural so I was happy. in about 20 minutes or so the nurse came in and checked me again. I looked at her and asked if I could have my epidural yet and she looked me straight in the face and said NO! I was like WHAT? NO? WHY? and she answered me with the scarriest answer ever! It's too late...your dialated 8 cm!
now I'm normally alright with pain and I have to tell you whoever said contractions feel like period cramps is seriously LIENG! I felt like my pelvis was splitting open and not to mention the god awful back labor!
ok so anyways I'm about 8 cm and suddenly with every contraction I can't help but push! the nurses were flipping out telling me "NO don't push you need to stop!" but I couldn't help it, as much as I tried I swear my body just pushed it was like involuntary.
so suddenly I scream OMG HE"S COMING OUT! the nurse looks at me and says no no you have time! then my mom glances down and announces that yes indeed hello the baby is crowning! so the nurse shoved him back in! Litterally she shoved him in.
My dr. finally came running down the hallway at full speed, he was tottally out of breath when he reached my room the nurse threw a gown on him and he tried to put his gloves on but one flew off and just as this is happening the dr. rushes over to me and catches my son with one hand! He caught Hixon with his right gloved hand while his left ungloved hand was in the air being gloved by the nurse lol. MY SON WASN"T WAITING LOL. He sure made an intrance lol. overall I'd say labor sucked it hurt like hell, but once Hixon was in the birth canal the pain was gone and it really is just pressure to push. pushing doesn't hurt at all.
I'm very excited tohave a boy! my family hasn't had a boy in it since before 1985. My uncle who is almost 40 was the last boy to be brought into the family. since then its been my sister me and my two female cousins, and December 06my sister brought my niece into the world.

Nate and I are very happy together . The funny thing is he's been a friend of my family's for years. Since he was little and I never knew about him and he never even knew my mom had kids until she invited him to my graduation party. I'm just so happy and shocked that he's mine. I couldn't ask for a better guy. He already has two daughters and raises them alone, which to me shows how great of a dad he is. So me giving him his first son is so exciting and great. I'll admit in the beginning I was a bit sad because He's already been married and he's already got kids so, I figured I'd never have anything to share with him for both of our firsts. I guess I was wrong cause we are both getting our first son!
My family has already planned my baby shower and I'm super excited to get together with friends and family to celebrate my little guy getting ready to come into the world.
The date is set for July 19.
