Ok so my name is Danielle and I am a college student with a medical back ground. This is my first pregnancy and yep it was a little unexpected. My b/f and I wanted to get married next year when I graduated and then plan to have kids. But we are very excited about our little one. We are just hoping to have a healthy baby. We have both decided that the sex doesn't matter.


We have 2 dogs that we treat like kids and so we are looking forward to the rest of the months and this wonderful experience.
I plan to start putting pictures up soon!










So I found out I was pregnant the day before April 1st (April Fools). My b/f didn't think it would be funny to take the pregnancy test on April fools so I took it the night before. Kind of a last minute lets just see if I am pregnant. And sure enough I took 2 tests and they came back positive. Then I went to a clinic and took another one. Yep still pregnant. We were excited but in shock. Then sheer terror hit and we didn't even know if we could do it. But now we are both very excited and planning for our baby.



I decided to choose a birth center because I like the idea of having a natural birth. I am looking forward to sharing this experience with everyone!!


Last Menstrual period: March 1, 2008
Positive pregnancy test: March 31, 2008
First dr. appointment cancled   : May 22,2007
So my first dr. appointment was today. I was hoping that I was going to hear the heart beat and just get to get all of my past medical history out of the way. But another lady went into labor at my birth center so I have to wait until June 5th. Luckily I will get to hear and see the baby so that will be exciting.
May 24, 2008: Told my mom about my pregnancy.
Jun 5, 2008: 2nd midwife appointment cancled due to a lady in labor. I am starting to think I'm not going in yet. I am so dissappointed and just pissed   !!! I wish that there was more than one midwife at my center. I am giving it one more try. Then I have to look somewhere else. I am 14 weeks already for goodness sakes and haven't even been to my first appt. But the good news is I am taking my prenatals and eating as helathy as posssible.
June 12, 2008: 3rd try for 1st appointment scheduled. 1st ultrasound is scheduled.
The ultrasound appointed went very well. As you can see my baby looks great and healthy! Heart rate at 144.
July 10, 2008- second appointment. I found out my Iron is lower than where my midwife wants it. Still normal but lower than desired. I now take ore supplaments to increase that. I also have some colostrum leakage when my nipples are stimulated, so I try not to stimulate them. Early but normal. The babies heart rate was 152. I have gained a total of 9lbs during this pregnancy.
July 14th, 2008- I had a dream that the baby was a girl. I am a little confused on what I am having now. We have pickedout the names Martin for a boy and Olivia for a girl. We will see whichone we have. I don't care about the sex. I just want a healthy baby! 
July 19, 2008- Officially 20 weeks! As I was trying to sleep the baby poked and kicked me and kept me awake. First time the baby acctually kept me awake. I can no longer sleep on my stomach. If I lay partially on my stomach I can feel the baby moving like crazy. Sleeping is uncomfortable. I am starting to feel the effects of a growing belly.

July 31st, 2008- IT'S A BOY!!!I saw the penis!  Measured 1lb and 2 ounces. The baby was healthy and so far everything looks great!! It's so excited because I predicted a boy and bam! There it is!! So far I have gained a total of 11lbs. It seems like a lot but that's ok. My MIL, SIL, and BF were all in the room and screamed as soon as they found out the sex! It was so fun and exciting! I still measure a week early but I am keeping my same due date.

August 3, 2008 @ 1:30am- Felt first hiccups. It was too cute. My shirt and my belly kept moving on my right side and I put my hand on my tummy and I could feel the baby hiccupping. I didn't know I would be able to tell so easily. It was amazing!!

im glad to hear that., yet im so anxious to find the sex lol i got until sept.,26 to find out ugg its taking forever!
