I'm 33yrs old and pregnant with my first baby, its a little girl. At my 12wk ultrasound they found my baby has a megacystis (an enlarged bladder). Doctors can't work out why this has happened as its rare for girls. Over time it has put strain on her kidneys and the amniotic fluid is very low, doctors have prepared me for the worst but can i ever be prepared for what may happen? I've decided to continue with the pregnancy as this is the first time i've ever fallin pregnant,i didn't think i could have kids and the love i have for her already is unbelievable.
At my last ultrasound the bladder had gone down, the left kidney was damaged but there's still fluid so i'm thinking someone up there is trying to give me and my little girl a fair chance.
I try everyday to stay positive and i'm tired of the negative so now i just want to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy experience like every other mum. I've just moved so i don't have alot of friends here or anyone to do the mummy chats with. I'm interested in talking with anyone with similar problems or just mummies and mummies to be
Update 7/10/08
My daughter was born six weeks early on the 13th of August 2008 and sadly six days later on the 19th of August she past away as her kidneys failed to work.. I have now experienced what real love feels like and the excruciating pain of a heart shattered into a million little pieces never to be repaired...

Hello,
Little Josh is well. He has doubled his birth weight and is now getting 4 cc's of milk every 3 hours. He has grown so much and hopefully he will have a "smooth" stay at teh NICU. We still have a long way to go, but he is such a fighter we never lose hope.
How are you doing? How's your little girl? I hope everything is going well
