My Labor Story - Lillian
I was induced on January 16th at 8:30 a.m.. They broke my water at 9:30 a.m., at which point, I was 1.5 cm dialated and 50% thinned. I didn't progress much throughout the day. At6 p.m. my contractions were 2 min apart and I was in full-on back labor due to her facing the wrong way. By 6:30 p.m. I got an epidural. I was only 3 cm and still 50%. At 9 p.m. we made the decision for a c-section. I was 4 cm and 50%. They took me in for the c-section at 10:15 p.m. and at 10:46 p.m. Lillian was born. She was 9lbs 5 oz, 20 inches and had a full had of black hair. Due to our blood incompatibility she does have Jaundice. She spent a full day and night on the UV bed. We are finally home and as happy as ever!
My Labor Story- Ethan
I had been trying so hard for a VBAC, but had scheduled my c-section for my due date. 4 AM on August 19th, my due date, I went into labor all on my own! We go to the hospital around 9:30am with contractions about 6 min apart. I was 100% effaced and dilating at a good pace. Around 4pm, I broke down and got the epidural, which I regret. Around 6pm the baby began showing signs of stress, had stopped moving and hb had dropped to a 72. We decided the c-section would be the best option. At 8:27 pm, I have birth to a 7lb 15oz 21 in BOY! We had been expecting a girl! No problems with our blood incompatibility or anything at all for that matter. So happy to have welcomed our precious baby boy, Ethan Patrick!
