I live in Baton Rouge, LA. I'm married and we're pregnant with our first child due February 1st. Our first baby is our 3 year old Pomeranian, Faux Pas.

Hi Dana! Congrats on this being your first pregnancy & baby! Yes, I do find that moms tend to show earlier their second, third, fourth, etc. pregnancies...I have more weight on me this go round than I did my first three pregnancies so I'm not really showing yet...but my mid-section had some extra baggage before I got pregnant so I'm sure that's why. In other words, I just look fat...LOL...It's been a while since my last pregnancy so I don't tend to remember exactly when I started showing for the others, but I do know that for my first one I showed much later than for my other two.
I went to the doctor today for my check-up. I'm one day shy of being 12 weeks pregnant and the doctor could not find the heartbeat on the doppler thing that they use to find it. He said that's it's not unusual not to hear it at this time. We did hear it 3 weeks ago on the ultrasound. He said that the ultrasound machine is more sensitive and picks up the sounds better. I'm not really worried about it but I think I might ask the questions in an open topic...just to hear other moms responses...hope all is well with you...take care!
