I'm Amanda, I have 2 boys and I'm pretty sure I'm expecting again. All of the info below is from my first pregnancy, but I don't have that info anywhere else so I'm not deleting it for now
6/24/08-POSITIVE PREGNANCY TEST! Actually 5 home tests, and then some more at the drs! I can't believe it! After trying for over 5 years it doesn't seem real!
7/11/08-Intake Appt with OB nurse
08/14/08-First OB Appt. Dr didn't even try to hear the heartbeat :-( very sad
9/2/08-Felt 4 really light taps. Could it have been the baby?
9/11/08-Felt the baby!
9/18/08-I am finally convinced I am pregnant. For the longest time I couldn't get myself to believe it, because it had taken me sooooo long to get pregnant. I felt movement for the first time last week Thursday, then again on Friday, again on Saturday. But today at my 16wk appt I FINALLY heard the heartbeat! There's a baby in there!
10/16/08-ULTRASOUND! Its a boy! AHHH I wasn't expecting that! He is adorable! Measuring exactly to his due date! and 20 week appt.
10/17/08-1 hour GTT-FAILED!
10/27/08-3 hr GTT-waiting on results
10/30/08-3hr GTT results back! Bloodwork looks great! WOO HOO! But they want to retest at 28 weeks? BLAH!
7/27/09-I haven't updated this in a long time. My son, Alex, was born on March 3rd, 2009 at 7:49am. I had a really fast and pretty easy delivery. I woke up in labor, but it was really light the day before. I went all day with slight cramping/contractions and it just kept getting worse. I tried walking to speed things along, but my mom and dr told me I shouldn't because of how swelled up I was. I took a bath around 9:30 pm and after that I starting timing my contractions. Around 10 pm they were like 7-9 min apart. By midnight they were 4-5 min. I called my dr's office and the nurse was like well let me sit on the phone with you to judge how they are and then she said well that didn't sound too bad, lets wait another hour! I went and took another bath and by 2 it was time to go to the hospital and I called the nurse and told her so. I went in and the triage nurse said that I was already dialated to 5, that was around 3am. The next time I was checked was around 5, after I had my epidural and I was to 8cm. I was feeling much better after the epidural so I tried to take a nap but my nurse kept waking me up, not trying to, but just walking in my room would wake me up. Around 7am my inlaws and OB showed up. I was almost fully dialated, there was just "a lip" left so the doc said he was going to change. He came back in a little after 7:30 and said alright lets go! Alex's heart rate kept dropping, everything was happening so fast its almost like a blur. Doc said we had to get the baby out NOW so he was going to cut me....told him to do what he had to do....didn't realize what he had to do was cut me 3 times, but Alex comes first! It was amazing. My husband cut the cord, and they laid Alex on my chest and I was just amazed. He was 6lbs 14oz. We had no problems except latching for breastfeeding. I stayed in the hospital an extra day to work with the lactation consultant, but by the time we left Alex was a pro. We can breastfeed any where any time any position and he's fine. He's almost 5 months now, he's eating baby food like a little baby food fiend. At his last apt, for 4 months he was just over 16lbs and 26 in. He's a little chunky butt!
