I am a 27 year-old adjunct Spanish professor at the University of Kentucky and at Eastern Kentucky University. I just got my Master's degree on Aug 22. My fiancé, Jeff, and I have been together more than 7 years and we just bought a house in June!
LMP - 6/9/08
Positive Tests - 7/6, 7/7. 7/8/08
First Dr. appt to confirm - 7/8/08
8/20/08 - Appt. Saw the baby. Couldn't hear the heartbeat though. The dr. says that my uterus is tilted and it made it difficult to hear, but we should be able to at the next appt. We were able to see the hearbeat on the monitor during the u/s though. Everything is going great and I have only gained a pound and a half! Blood pressure was good - 112/78.
Due date was changed from Mar 17 to the 16.
8/28/08 - This appt was cool because the baby was moving around a lot more than last time. I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! It was 163. Unfortunately, Jeff had to work, but the tech printed out 3 pics for him! They couldn't get the baby in the right position to do the measurements of the neck and skin (Nuchal Translucency Test), though, so we are going back next Wed. That's fine with me! I love seeing the baby.
9/3/08 - 2nd try at NT (measurements of skin and neck to check for Down's and other defects). This appointment was successful for the NT. I found out yesterday that our risk factor was negative for Down's and a few other common chromosomal defects. YAY! It was amazing to see the difference in the baby in just 6 days. He/she grew a whole centimeter and the uterus is visibly moving above the pelvic bone to give the baby more room. The heartbeat was 153 this time.
9/23/08 - Dr. appt. - He said everything looked great! Heartbeat was about 140 beats per minute.
10/21/08 - I have gained only 10 pounds total. The doctor said that everything looks perfect with the baby!
10/29/08 - FOUND OUT THE SEX!!! It's a BOY!!!

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner! Its been hectic and being sick doesn't help. I have no idea who the baby looks like. Everyone keeps saying he looks like my fiancee. But i don't see it. He just looks like a doll to me. lol
