Hello, my name is Jackie, I am 26 years old. I live with my boyfriend Ernie and our beautiful baby girl Janelle. Janelle was born at 28 weeks 1 day. SHe weighed 1 lb 8 oz. When I was about 20 weeks pregnant our doctor told us Janelle had enlarged ventricles and was small for her age. She lookd like she was maybe 3-4 weeks behind in development. It was the worse news to ever hear when you're just going for a regular check up.6 weeks later I went to the hospital to get steroid shots cuzI was told she may come early. While at the hospital they noticed my blood pressure was very high and I was addmitted. I was diagnosed with Preclampsia and was on bed rest for 2 weeks. Then Nov. 29th 2007, a Thursday night, my blood pressure shot up and was unable to come down and our little Janelle was born. I didn't hear her cry or even get to see for 2 whole days. It was so brutal. Janelle has gone through so much in her short life. She is a fighter. She's been through 6 surgeries: 4 related to Hydrocephalus, 1 for ROP, and 1 for hernia repair and G-tube placement. 5 months later and she finally came home. I am so excited to have her home with us. There's never a dull momemt lol. I am now a stay at home mom, something I thought I'd never be but I love it. It can be stressful at times but every one of Janelle's smiles is worth it. Today she is 8months 5 moths adjusted, meeting some milestones and struggling with others but she continues to amaze everyone she meets. I am blessed to have her in my life and hope I can be as strong a mom as she has been.
