Hi Everyone! My name is Kim and I'm 22 years old and expecting my first. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 3 years now. We have a sweet dog named Bella who up to this point has been our baby girl..
We found on Nov. 11th that we will have a baby GIRL!!! Her name will be Gracie Lyn and we are super excited. This is the first grandchild on both sides which is exciting... My mom is a very crafty person she will be making my bedding for me and we went and picked out fabric the other day.. My theme is Elegant Princess!!!

August 2, 2008: Took a HPT (2)... It was POSTIVE, I'm pregnant!!
Same day we went to the walk in clinic for ablood test to make sure before telling the family and I just simply mentioned I was having cramping and she made us rush to the ER for tests. While we were there they took ablood test, put a catherter in me to blow up my uterus and did an ultrasound.. The conclusion was that for 4 weeks my HCG was low 168 and it needed to be up in the 400's or this could mean ectopic pregnancy.. Didnt sleep good all weekend. Also, on the ultrasound they couldnt see anything because I was SO early!
Aug 2, 2008: Told the family-gavemom and mother in law a white baby's outfit that read "Coming Soon" on the front and the back "Baby Ahrens"-everyone was So excited!
August 4, 2008:Went back to follow up blood test at the ER and YEA!!! the count had tripled to 426 which is a wonderful SIGN!!
August 7, 2008: My first appt with the Dr. and everything went great... They took MORE blood and did a pap to make sure no infection..They also did an internal ultrasound and got to see the sack where the baby will begin to form. The Dr. said that everything looks normal, the size and all for 5 weeks is normal.In two weeks on Aug. 21st we willgo back for the Genetic tests and more ultrasounds... This is just SO cool how the Lord gave us this little miracle. We cant wait till we hear the heartbeat..how exciting=)
August 21, 2008:
We just got back from the DR. today and we are so excited to be able to share with you all the first pictures of baby Ahrens! We were able to see his or hers heart beating (such an awesome moment for us).
The DR. said that everything looks great. She measured the size and said we are actually 6 weeks and 4 days pregnant with an expected due date of April 12th. Stephen was like I knew that you weren't far along a couple of weeks ago; because of my HCG levels being so low. Well Daddy knows best
We go back in 5 weeks on Sept.25thto do the down syndrome test-they take blood and check the width of the baby's neck. We also are signed up for Prenatal classes for the 1st trimester.
The symptoms that I'm experiencing now are really a lot of nausea and I cant sleep very well in the night because of it. Its not just morning sickness its ALL day sickness.The Dr. said thathaving nauseais a good sign that the baby is doing well. So each time I feel like throwing up I try to remind myself of that=)
To end, today has been a really wonderful day for me and Steve. On the way home I kept looking at the ultrasound picture thinking WOW we and the Lord of course created this tiny person and how awesome that is.
September 21, 2008: I finally got to hear the heartbeat for the first time yesterday. I ordered a fetal doppler and WOW its just SO amazing.. Latley I have been feeling so emotional and really cry at anything. Also, the nausea that I was having is starting to go away, and now I feel SO hungry and tired all the time. This Thursday we get to see the baby again and really I cant wait. This whole pregnancy thing has really made me have more patience because I have never been one to wait I want it to happen now! LOL
I have also just been starting to eat more too. I have lost 10 pounds due to the nausea and really I'm kinda scared about putting on the weight, but as long as the baby is healthy thats all that matters.. I have had acne really bad too and hope by the 2nd trimester this goes away...

Yesterday we went to our DR. Appt and thought we were going to get an ultrasound but was told that they dont do it everytime only in the first trimester.. I was sad, but i got what I wanted because they needed to check the heartbeat and the bpm was 143 and we couldnt really see the baby because it was upside down=)
The great news is we are going to be finding out what were having on Nov. 11th and we are SO excited. I have invited my mom and Stephen's mom to be in the room with us for the revealing.
I have been having pains on my sides when I sleep and I have been starting to have cravings especially for tuna and SINCKERS-they are my weakness.
I will go for now...Pray that everything continues to go well with the pregnancy and that we will be able to see the sex on Nov. 11th
