My Birth Story
I started having contractions at home around 6:30pm, waited an hour and timed them, then called my doctor. She said to go to the hospital. We got to the hospital around 8pm. They checked me and I was still 3 cm dilated (I had been 3 cm for weeks!!). They weren't sure if it was real labor or dehydration so they made walk around the hospital for an hour and a half. I progressed to 5 cm after that and in active labor. They suggested I then get the epidural before I was in bad pain. The epidural hurt getting put in...and it made me get the shakes really bad for hours. More hours passed and I still didnt dilate any further i was stuck at 6-7 cm. They gave me Pitocin to make the contractions stronger and dilate me more. Well my epidural wasnt working that great and they kept giving me medicine boosts but did not help the pain. My doctor then gave me the option to get a c-section or redo the epidural. I opted to get another epidural. As soon as they put it in I went from 7cm to 10cm in like 10 minutes. Obviously the first epidural wasn't put in right and I wasn't dilating cause of the pain, I kept myself closed. They did give me a episotomy (when they cut you) and I pushed for an hour. I broke blood vessels in my face from pushing and was so swollen afterwards. Jonathan was born on December 16 at 12:17pm. He was 8lbs 1oz and 19.5 inches long. My total labor was 17 hours but it was all worth it for my little man!!!
I found out I have PCOS a few years ago. When I was TTC I took Metformin to help regulate my cycles and it worked
