alllast visit: 3 hrs agomember since: Oct 14th 2008about me:
Lillian Elizabeth was born April 7, 2009 at 623pm. She was 8.5 lbsand 19 inches. She is our first and maybe only child. Lilly is an amazing baby and I love her so much. I was induced a week early due to swelling. I was induced at midnight and had two doses of p-gel. At 8am my dr came in and checked me, I was 3cm and 50% effaced. He broke my water and wanted me started on pitocen at 10am. I got started on the pitocen and nothing much happened. Every half hour to hour they turned up the pitocen. At around 230pm I was maxed out on pitocen and still not in any pain. I was having contractions every 2-4 min but they were only like period cramps to me. At around 330pm the pain was pretty bad after being maxed out for an hour on the pitocen. I asked for an epi at about 4pm. My dr came in at 430 and checked me, I was still 3cm and 50% effaced! No progress in almost 15 hours of labor. He suggested a c-section but said he would let me labor until midnight but didn't think anything would happen. I said lets go for the c-section and get this done. At 515pm I was taken to the surgery room and my spinal was started. That was really uncomfortable getting done. I had to have it done twice because the first person who tried was training (which they didn't tell me about!). From there everything went well and I was in recovery at 645pm and feeding my baby a little after 7pm. The dr told me that a natural labor would have NEVEr happened for me. She was face up and oblique. I guess with every contraction I was having she would move down a bit and then go back up. I really didn't mind it and wasn't in much pain after either.
