I'm pregnant for the first time and my husband & I are so excited. I've always been fascinated by pregnancy and can't wait to experience it for myself. My husband and I were high school sweethearts and have been together for 13 years. Married for 7 years. This was a planned pregnancy but it took us 10 months to conceive which was a little unnerving. I'm not having very many pregnancy symptoms yet but I can tell you the breast tenderness is definitely there! It doesn't bother me though because each new thing is confirmation that our new baby is coming. I wish everyone the best of luck and welcome any advice you have for a new mom.
10/31/08-Positive HPT! Yay! OMG!!!
11/6/08- First OB appt. Positive pregnancy test and doctor verified with his exam.
12/5/08- 9 Weeks + 4 days. Second OB appt. First sonogram which was AMAZING! Heard the heartbeat with the doppler. Good stuff
1/9/09- Third OB appt. Listened to heartbeat with doppler. Three pounds less than first appt.Everything right on track.
1/11/09- 14 Weeks + 6 days. Cheated and played with the sono machine at work. I don't know how to do a "real sono" but I sure did see the baby kicking like crazy! If only I could feel it...
1/18/09- 15 weeks + 6 days. Cheated again. Had my sono tech (the real deal) at work do a "black market sono" and we found out we're having a girl! When I asked him if it was "obviously obvious" he said "Oh Yeah!". I have my next sono at the dr's office 2-6-09 so hopefully that will confirm it but so far it looks like it's team pink for us!
1/22/09- Might have felt the baby for the first time but I'm not sure. It was kinda high in my belly and awfully strong. Maybe I'm growing a future soccer player... DECIDED THIS WAS DEFINITELY A FALSE ALARM.
2/4/09- 18 Weeks + 2 days. I let the radiology students in our radiology department practice on me (with my sono tech there of course). She's still a girl and moving all over the place! We started with her head low on the left and ended with it on the right. She's a wiggle worm just like her mama.
2/6/-0- 18 Weeks + 4 days. OB appt #4. Formal sono at doctor's office with hubby and mom. She's still a girl. (For the third time). Thank goodness. Heard the heartbeat with the doppler. Everything's right on track. No weight gain yet.
2/9/00- 19 Weeks. Internet shopping for cribs while I was sitting on the couch and felt her move for the first time. Talk about amazing. There were 3 movements in about 10 mins. This time it was unmistakable. Daddy was sitting next to me. Freaked him out a little to know that shopping is what gets his little girl excited!
3/6/09- 22 Weeks + 4 days. OB appt #5. Glucose tolerance test. The fruit punch flavored solution actually tasted fine. Up 3 pounds. My doctor seems a little surprised that I've felt so great. Heard the heartbeat with the doppler. Everything's right on track. Almost to 24 weeeks and loving life!
3/10/09- 23 Weeks + 1 day. Hubby felt the baby move for the first time that night in bed. For some reason she was incredibly active. That was the first time she's had such a flurry of activity. Amazing... He was awe struck.
3/29/09-25 Weeks + 6 days. Had another sonogram on the side at work. Still a girl. She measured perfectly. Saw the 4 chambered heart. She's breech but thankfully has time to turn (again and again and again) before the big day. All is well with my precious girl!
