Hello... I am Melissa, I am 24. I am married to my wonderful husband Dane, 24. We've been together since jr. High and have been married a year. We found out 7/7/07 that we were expecting our first child, but sadly six short days later we suffered from a miscarriage. It was a really hard time for me mainly. I was depressed for a little while, and often found myself asking God why he took my child away from me. But quickly realized that he had only the best intentions for my husband and I. Because 10/6/07 we found out we were pregnant again.... and at our 6wk 1day ultrasound, it revealed more than what we were expecting!!! TWINS.... we find it a blessing from God. I truly think it was his way of saying "sorry that I took your last one away, here is an extra blessing".... We found out January 24th that we were expecting a boy and a girl! Drake and Kera. I went to my 33 week appointment on May 1, 2008 (our 9 year dating anniversary), and told the doctor I thought I was having just a few braxton hicks contractions, and she checked me, and I was 3cm dilated. She sent me to another hospital where I was seeing a specialist, he checked me and I was already 5cm. So Drake and Kera made their debut early by emergency c-section. Baby A Kera was born at 1:54pm weighing in at 4lbs 12oz 17 inches long. Baby B Drake was born at 1:55pm weighing in at 4lbs 12oz 20 inches long. yeah, I'm thinking almost 10 lbs, I try and weigh him myself by holding him on the scale with me, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. Those little wrinkles he had are certainly filling out now =)
