I am mommy too Taegan Illiam Grey.

I belly dance, make a mean espresso, paint, write, believe in natural remedies, am OCD, don't drive, live at home, was a vegetarian till I became pregnant, was planning a home delivery up until 36 weeks when I got in a car accident that tore my placenta and am going to college to get my Early Childhood Education degree.

I have been engaged for over a year to an amazing guy named Frank, who is also the father of my baby.


October 15th 2008 - Its the father's birthday and the date of conception!!!
November 5th 2008 - Took first two pregnancy tests, both are positive.
November 6th 2008 -Took two more tests, still positive, ha ha.
November 11th 2008 - Went to the doctor for a blood pregnancy test.
November 13th 2008 - Doctor called, blood test was positive, estimated due date is July 13th 2009.
December 5th 2008 - First OB visit, everything seems okay.
December 19th 2008 - First Sono. Due date changed to July 8th. Heard the heartbeat for the first time!!!
January 20th 2009 - Another OB visit, everything is still normal. Hate my doctor.
February 5th 2009 - First visit with my new midwife, still not a fan.
February 15th 2009 - Second ultrasound, the baby is a boy!!! First consultation with my third midwife, I love her!!!
February 26th 2009 - Another midwife visit, the baby is active and growing fast.
March 5th 2009 - Visit with my new midwife's partner, she said the baby is pushing on my stomach which is why my heart burn has been so bad.
March 2009 - Baby dropped super early at 23 weeks.
April 1 2009 - Admitted to hospital for three days for preterm labor contractions, dilated a fingertip and 50% effaced.
June 9 2009 - Got in a car accident and the air bag hit me directly in the stomach, the placenta was torn and I was admitted to the hospital for four days.
June 15 2009 - Been home a couple days now, had my first doctors appointment since the accident and things are looking good.
June 16 2009 - Seeing my home birth midwife for a consultation.
June 19 2009 - Another doctors appointment with a non-stress test and sono.
July 7 2009 - Early labor started
July 9 2009 - Went into active labor at 6 PM, got to hospital at 11 PM.
July 10 2009 - After 18 hours of labor, three of which were pushing, Taegan came out screaming, weighing in at 9 lbs. 1 ounce.

Have you heard the heartbeat?: A bunch of times.
Baby ethnicity?: Pretty much everything. Polish, French canadian, Swedish, Norwegian, German, Irish, Native american, Bohemian, Russian, Finish... The list goes on.
Who do you think baby will look like?: I'm guessing it'll be pretty small like its parents, brown hair, green or blue eyes, freckles, really pale skin.
Will baby have any siblings?: Not yet.
Have you and dad felt baby move?: We've both felt and seen him moving around.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Did you have morning sickness?: I did but it wasn't very bad.
Did you have any cravings?: Lots.
Did you have any mood swings?: Still have plenty of those.
Are you a high risk pregnancy?: I sure am, and just keep getting more high risk.
Any complications?: Threatened miscarriage, irritable uterus, preterm labor, and torn placenta.
Formula or breastfeeding?: Breast feeding.
Have you bought anything for baby yet?: We got pretty much everything.
When did you start to show?: Around three months.
How long could you wear your regular clothes?: I haven't fit in most of my clothes since around three months.
Are you excited?: Extremely.

What is your favorite thing about being pregnant?: The baby kicking.
What is the worst thing about being pregnant?: Worrying about my little guy.
What one thing do you miss doing since being pregnant? Hanging out with my friends doing crazy stuff till all hours.

42. Have you smoked or drank since finding out you were pregnant? Before I knew I was pregnant.

52. What do you do most now that you are pregnant? The past three months just lay in bed and go to the doctor and the hospital.

54. What’s the last movie you saw? Fear and loathing in Las Vegas.
55. How many baby stores have you been to since you’ve been pregnant? Too many.

57. When’s the last time you bought yourself an outfit? It's been a long time, I can't actually go shopping so I just wear all of my fiances clothes.
58. Do you work? I had to quit when I went on bed rest.

Mine kicks a lot. She seems to be doing really well, but I have a doctor appointment this week to see how things are going.
