I'm pregnant with my second child which has the same due date as my first. My daughter Addison Lou passed away on April 11, 2008 due to trauma in a car accident. It was her 8 month birthday.. My fiancee and I have stayed together through all of the heartbreak and I figure if we can make it through losing a child together we can make it through anything. It has been a rough road so far but I'm hoping this baby will make me feel complete again. I will never forget my daughter. She was the light of my life and made everyone she came in contact with smile.
My Labor Story I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, the 11th and my doctor checked me. He said the baby was low but not engaged and myt cervix was thinning. He told me it could be any time but he bet a week. At 2:30 AM that next morning I rolled over and felt a gush of water. I got up and checked myself out, then immediately called my mom. Rick and I went to the hospital around 3and they told me they didn't think my water broke because the swab didn't turn a definite color, but I was dilated to 1 cm. My doctor told them to keep me there since there were cervical changes. He got there around 7:30 and I was dilated to a 3 and 'lo and behold my water had broken. My contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart and he wanted to start me on pitocin. We started that around 9:00 and in a matter of 15 minutes my contractions were 2 minutes apart lasting for 90 seconds. At 10:15 AM I opted for the epidural and was checked again and was 7 cm. The epidural only numbed my right side, so I still felt all of my contractions in my left side. The anesthesiologist said it"probably wouldn't have time to reach my perennial area".At around 10:50 I started to feel a lot of pain in my vag and the nurse checked and Miss Emma's head was descending. I started pushing at 10:59 and felt pretty much everything. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, mostly just a lot of pressure and a burning sensation. At 11:03 my baby girl was welcomed into the world. A whole 4 minutes of pushing and no stitches. She latched right on to the boobie and it has been smooth sailing ever since
