Hi! I'm a 22yr old Military wife. I just had my first baby, DaysonAlexander Kirby,January 18. He was born at 6:03pm. I never imagined how my life would change from that moment forward! I went into the hospital that morning at 5:30am to be induced. FINALLY at 9:30, they started the pitocin. I had to call the Red Cross to get the ball rolling to get hubby home asap. Initially they'd promised that they could get him there before he was born. Haha....whatever. After many phone calls and tears shed, I was informed that they wouldnt start paperwork til the baby was actually delivered. I was heartbroke. So, it was just my mom there with me.I stayed dialated at a 2 from the time i arrived at the hospital til about 4:30. Then the contractions picked up. I went from a 2 to a 4 in less than a half an hour. Then, the race was on. I had intened to have a purely natural birth, but by 5 I needed a lil something. So they gave me a half shot of Staytol. 15 minutes later...they gave me the other half...it wasnt cutting it. I was begging for an epidural shortly there after. My doctor and the anethesiologist arrived at approximately the same time, 5:45. At that point, I was SCREAMING, begging them to take the monitors off my belly cuz they hurt. My doc informed the anesthesiologist immediately that there was no time at all that for an epi. I was thrown up in the stirrups, locked my elbows under my knees and pushed for 8 straight minutes, barely pausing to breathe! it took 3 big pushes, one to break the water, one to get his head out and the last to get the rest of him out!!! HOOAH! lol...I was so lucky. Especially for a first time mommy!
Hubby got home saturday night, and we got to spend a whole week together, thank god. Now it's just me and my lil miracle. I thank God that he looks so much like his daddy, it helps remind me of the purity of our love. I cant believe how awesome this really is! I mean, I've been LIKE a mom to Hubby's 3 little boys already, but to finally have my FIRST BABY!? WOW!!!
