On 10.29.09 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter at 7:07pm. She weighed 8lbs and 6oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. I had planned to have a drug-free childbith but late on the 27th I began having contractions but they stayed at 8ish minutes apart. So on the morning of the 29th my OB broke my water and by that point I was exhausted so I agreed to an epi. After the epi I was given pitocin. she was born after 1 hour of pushing and I wasn't cut and didnt tear! She has a lot of hair but its thickest in the back, just like mommy. She is so beautiful!
I have been breastfeeding since an hour after her birth. By day 3 I had cracked nipples and they wanted to have her back in the hospital for jaundice for 24 hours and asked me to stop breastfeeding for that time. I was unwilling to do that so eventually they bent and allowed me to stay and nurse her every couple of hours. I stuck it out in the hospital with her and through the pain of the cracked nipples. Now we are both doing much better and successfully BFing
Originally we started out in a bassinet next to the bed but she started having breathing problems. I thought it might have been my two cats so my parents took them to their house and we cleaned up. She was still having some problems and I noticed it was worse after being in the bassinet, so I dont know if it was the plastics, but we returned it and now she is sleeping in a co-sleeper either on the bed or on a table next to the bed, depending on if my SO is home.
I have been with my fiance since high school and we both couldn't be happier with our beautiful little girl. Unfortunately his job keeps him gone too much. We decided against getting married during my pregnancy because it would seem as if it was only because of the pregnancy. We have loved each other a long time and didnt feel the need to "rush" into a marriage now just because of having a baby. We would like to be married before the next one though.
