.Katrina was due on December 21,2009
.My water broke early and she was born on October 11,2009
.She will be in the ICN until early December
.She has been breathing on her own since she was born and she is eating like a champ
.Katrina wasn't planned, but I love her so much already
.My husband is in North Carolina, so I'm doing most of this journey without him
.It breaks us both that we cannot be together, but we are stronger because of this
.I have an amazingly supportive family
.We are working on breastfeeding because that is the best thing for her
♥I cannot wait for the day where Matt and I will be able to watch Katrina grow together♥

April 27- Took a home pregnancy test and got a BFP.
Matthew called and I told him the news. He was exstatic 
April 28- Regular gyno appointment confirmed that I was exactly 6 weeks along.
May 28- First Ultrasound! The baby was moving all over the place and it was hard to get a still picture. I also heard peas heartbeat which just made this more real.I fell 100% in love with my baby today.
June 7- I had horrible cramping around 3 am. It lasted for about two hours and it was terrible. It was on my left side and it wrapped all the way around to the left side of my back. There was no bleeding, but I know that feeling wasnt right. My fingers are crossed.
June 11- Second ultrasound.They were checking for downs syndrome since it runs in Matthews family. He was able to go and see the baby for the first time..the look on his face was priceless. The baby slept most of the time with it hands near its face.
August 5- Its a girl!!!!Everything looked good and shes a healthy 13 oz.
August 16-Katrina was active all day and I realized that I could now see her movements from the outside ♥
August 19- This was a long apointment but totally worth it. I love getting to peek at her and see whas she's doing. Shes now 1 pound and 1 oz and she looks healthy. September 25- The last monthly doctors app happened today. Everything looks, sounds and feels good.
October8, 3:35 am- My water broke and I was taken to the hospital. I'm on meds to keep her in until the steriods can help to mature her lungs a litle more. Every day that she stays in is a little less time in the NICU for her. My heart is breaking for my little girl, butI am hopeful.
October 11,2009 8:53pm- Katrina joined the world with a powerful cry. I'm complete now.
October 20- Matthew left for Camp Lejeune this morning. I'm so grateful that he was able to spend a few days with Katrina and I.

ICN Updates
October 26- As of today Katrina is 4 pounds! Hopefully she'll keep putting on the weight and not lose it.
November 3-Katrinas tummy is destended and she hasn't pooped in awhile. They are withholding her feedings and she was given something to help her go. She is 4 pounds and 6oz. They want to take her off her IV sometime in the next week and we will continue to work on her breastfeeding.
November 4- Katrina is up two more oz now so she is a whopping 4 pounds and 8 oz. She is doing so well that she is getting taken off her IV tonight!!!!
November 8- Katrina drank her first full feeding via bottle!
November 9- Almost a month after birth she is 4 pounds and 11oz
November 13- 5 pounds!

Hey!!!! how is the little angel doing? good that i see!!! i am so proud of you!!!!! it is getting easier everyday isn't it!!!! just remember you are a strong person and your daughter is a fighter and you guys will make it threw anything!!!! i am 35 weeks now and this is when i had my son lol so i am nervouse i might have her early to!!!!! keep me informed!
