I am a mother to an angel, Ryan Caleb Nanz. He was born 7.5.12 (30 weeks) and passed away to his heavenly home a few hours after birth. Ryan had Fetal Hydrops, which in his case was extra fluid around his lungs and skin edema. Hydrops is rare and most cases the reason is unknown. At birth he weighed 7lbs 5 oz and was swollen due to all the extra fluid. In result of the hydrops his lungs did not develop properly.The autopsy showed his lungs were developed at 21 weeks gestation. Regardless of the hydrops my little man fought till the end. He was perfect in every way. We found out about the hydrops at our anatomy scan at 18 weeks. Not only did we find out the most amazing news WE'RE HAVING A SON, but then the devastating news of this extra fluid. Weeks later we had to make a choice -- terminate the pregnancy or let nature play it's role. Never in a million years would I abort my child. He is the most amazing blessing. We did everything in our power as parents of Ryan to insure he had the best care. Hydrops babies chance of survival is very low. I never thought he wouldn't make it though. I had hope for him as any parent would. Hydrops miracles do exist! The most precious handsome little boy I've ever seen! I am so thankful for having him apart of my life. He will always be mommy's little guardian angel. Missing my baby boy! Ryan Caleb forever in my heart -- like a diamond in the sky you will always shine ♥

April 11th, 2012 -18 wk 3 d It's a boy!!! Saw fluid around lungs
April 17, 2012 - 19 wk 2 d - 1st Appt. with specialist
May 3, 2012 - 21w 4 d - Check-up - Everything is looking good!
May 7th, 2012 - 22w 3 d - Diagnosed with hydrops by Magee
May 14th, 2012 - 23w 1d - Meeting w/ Cleveland Clinic - specialist
May 18th, 2012- 23 w 5d - Meeting w/ Allegheny General - specialist
June 1, 2012 - 25 w 5 d - Check-Up w/ OB
