My name is Valerie and I am a proud Navy wife. Married my awesome husband back in December, and we are now awaiting the birth of our first baby! The hard part is that he is deployed for most of the pregnancy, returning when i am about 8 months pregnant. He will be here for the birth at least. Finding out!!
What day did u find out? Around July 16 or so. Don't remember the day exactly.
How did u feel when u found out? Shocked! Excited! Scared!
Who was with u? Josh, he actually saw the results first
Who was the first person u told? The first person I actually told was Ashley Taylor.
How did the daddy react? He was so silent...think he was so scared. But he is excited.

Telling the grandparents!
How did ur parents react? my mom waspessimistic at first but then she gave in and said congrats. My Dad said congrats and it will be his first grandchild.
How did his parents react? His mom is so excited because its her first grandchild! Josh's dad is excited I hear, but i haven't talked to him.
Are they helping with baby names? noo. I get to pick girl name, josh gets to pick boy name
Have they bought anything for the baby yet? Nope probably not. It's way early still.
How often do they call to check on u? His mom calls every few days. So does mine.

About the pregnancy!
When was ur first appointment? haven't had one yet but had to go to ER because I thought i was having a miscarriage. Then got to see OB the next day.
When is ur due date? March 16 2010
How far along r u? 7 weeks
Pre-pregnancy weight? 138
Weight now?the doctor scale said 135 but i know there's no way I lost weight. I need to buy a scale.
Have u had an unltrasound? In my fifth week when I thought I was having a miscarriage. It was hard to see much because it's so early, but I saw a heartbeat!
Have u heard the heartbeat? not yet but I saw the little flicker.
What was the heartbeat? don't know, they couldn't capture it.

Sex of the baby!
What do u want? I want a girl!
What does the daddy want? He wants a boy
What do u think u r having? girl (wishful thinking)
Have u had ur big ultrasound yet? No they do the big first one at 10 weeks. 3 more weeks til then!

About the birth!
Do u know what u r taking with u? no idea yet. still too early. I guess the reccomended basics.
Who is going to be with u? Hopefully my mom will be here. And JOSH better be!
Are u going to videotape it? no. creepy. ican just remember it.
Natural or medicated? i will try natural and see how i'm doing with the pain. I'm pretty tough so we will see.
Do u think u will need a c-section? probably not. I have wide hips. Unless some complication comes up.
Will u cry when u hold your baby for the first time? Yes! aww
Do u know what u will say to the baby when u first hold him/her? Hiiii Baby! in my cute voice.
Are u scared about the labor? a little but excited.

Names!!
Do u have a name picked out? a few girl names. thought i was set on one but of course I'm thinking of more now.
Girl names: Delinda Evelyn, Delilah Evelyn, Lyndsee Layne, Violet Layne
Boy names: Josh's choice: Ian Joshua. It's ok.
Is your baby going to be named after someone? Either the middle name Evelyn (my sister's first name and a family name) or my middle name as the middle name (Layne)

oh my goodness everyone is having BOYS! Congrats darling.. my name would have been Ian if I were a boy ;) My peanut doesnt have a name yet!!
