Hi my name is Ashley. I am a navy wife. My husband and I welcomed our first child into the world on August 6, 2010 at 6:56 am. Lucas Earl was 7lbs 15oz and 21 inches. I love being a mommy. It took my hubby and I almost 4 years to finally get him here and we could not be happier!!!! Lucas is such a good little boy. I could not ask for anything more right now..
On August 5, 2010 I went in to the doctors I was 2 days past my due date at that time. I saw the doctor she said that my bp was high and that I was spilling protein in my urine. She was concerned about it so she told me to go to the hospital to be monitored. She also had called ahead and asked them to put me in to be induced the next morning either way. Before I left her office she stripped my membranes and then I went home and got my bags and headed to the hospital. When I got to the hospital they monitored me for about two hours and they said my bp was back to normal. but they were going to admit me anyway because I was have contractions every 3-5 mins which I could feel. So then they moved me to l&d. At about midnight I decided to get up and walk I went with my mom and sister first and then when we came back my dad went with me. we did not get very far and my dad said I could grab his arm when I had a contraction not even 30 seconds later I said oh-no and my dad said I know what that means and my dad looked at the nurses and said her water just broke lol. My water had to break when I was with my dad lol. They finally check me at 2:00am and I was 6cm 80% effaced and he was sitting at 0 station. About an hour later I was feeling pressure and they checked me again and I was still 6cm and there was no change. I was in a lot of pain and my contractions were about 1 min apart and so I decided to get an epidural I was having back labor and I felt like my back was going to snap in 2. About 45 mins later they came and gave me the epidural. I was able to sleep and rest for a little while. They came and checked me a few time and I went to 7 and then 8 and then 9. When I was 8-9 cm they had to come in and put a lead on my sons head because his heart rate kept dropping and they needed to monitor him better. I was feeling pressure at about 6:30 and they checked me I was 9 ++ they said and they told me I would probably be pushing in about an hour. 5 mins later I told my hubby you have to go and get someone I have to push. they checked me again and said it's time to push. 17 mins later at 6:56am Lucas Earl arrived he was 7lbs 15oz and 21 inches long. He's perfect I could not be happier!!!!!!
