Daniel was born with the cord wrapped around his neck at 39 weeks 1 day. I was induced because of my high blood pressure and mild pre-eclampsia. I was so scared when he was born because he didn't cry and he was completely blue. When he did start to cry it was only a whimper and when i looked over he was having chest convulsions. I got to hold him for only a second before they took him to the nursery. Finally at 7 pm the nurses came in to take me to my son. When I got there to see him I couldn't help but cry because he had tubes down his throat, IV's and wires coming off of him every where. Doctors ordered oxygen to help his lungs, so he was on oxygen for 30 hours. It wasn't because his lungs weren't ready, its because the cord was wrapped around his neck. He got sent to a NiCu at a different hospital because ours didn't have one. I couldn't see him till the next morning which really made me sad. He stayed in the NiCu for 5 days and finally got to come home with me. I decided after all hes been through that I would no longer bottle feed and I would give him the real stuff. Now that he is home with us, he has been doing so much better and I couldn't ask for a more perfect baby.
