DH and I met on a Vamoose bus that was going from D.C. to NYC. I was going to visit my Brooklyn friend to have a girls-only weekend and he was freshly back from basic training and visiting his father in the Bronx. He slid into the seat next to me and settled in for the four-hour trip. I ignored him for the first two hours. Then, at the midway pit stop, he bought me juice and a snack (it was dinner time) and surprised me with it when we all boarded the bus to continue the trip. We've been together ever since. Best $3.00 he's ever spent, he says.
On Thursday, August 26, 2010, I got a faint BFP on a Dollar Store test. I was about 9 dpo. By Saturday, that faint BFP became a dark, solid positive line and a big "Pregnant" on a digital test. Yay! I couldn't wait to tell DH. I put a pair of camo booties in a pink bag with blue tissue paper and gave it to DH as a gift. He was confused when he opened it, until I shoved the digital test in his face. I said, "Baby, I'm pregnant." His face was frozen in shock for about a full minute. Then he started laughing and he kept looking at the test like it was going to say, "Just kidding!" on its digital face. He was beyond excited, and we can't wait for baby #1 to make his or her debut in May!
