I'm an Air Force medic married to my best friend Christian Bryant, who is an Army Infantryman. We are expecting our 2nd child together (5th total) on October 7, 2012.
About 3 months after our 1st daughter was born, I started losing all of my hair, my milk dried up & weight started falling off of me at an unhealthy rate. Finally, my in-laws, who are a doctor and nurse, told me to request my thyroid to be checked. I was diagnosed with Postpartum Thyroiditis. It is such a debilitating condition. At first my TSH & T3 & T4 indicated that I was extremely hyperthyroid, but they believed that it wasn't full-blown Grave's disease. I was told that I had to wait it out (meaning no meds!). As they predicted my thyroid took a swing to the complete opposite pole. HYPOthyroid. I did test positive for Hoshimoto's antibodies. My endocrinologist said that my body should naturally return to it's normal state within one year postpartum. When my daughter was about 10 months old, I woke up one morning and literally felt like I had been cured over night. I felt like I could take on the world!!! That very next month, on January 21, 2012, I had BFP!!! Of course I was nervous that I would have issues carrying the baby due to the thyroid issues. So far, 11 weeks in, everything is going good. I started feeling the baby kicking two days ago. This is my 4th child, so I'm guessing that my uterus is nice and stretchy now for it to bounce around in...lol. I will keep everyone updated as my pregnancy progresses =)
UPDATE: On May 3rd we found out we are having a BOY!!!!!! His name is Weston Anthony Bryant... "Wes". I'm so flippin excited!! Pregnancy is going smooth & uneventful so far. I'm 22 weeks today and time is flying by!
