Hey everyone! My name is Ivana and I'm due with a beautiful baby boy who I'm naming Tyler on August 27th, 2011 (
Tyler was born on August 23rd, 2011). I'm 18 years old and I'm going to be a young, single mother and a proud mommy at that! I'm all about being independent and doing for yourself. This is my first pregnancy and I couldn't be any more excited. Of course I have my fears, most nights I sit in bed and wonder how motherhood will affect me - since I am sincerely a lazy person. However, I've grown such a bond with my son and I can't imagine myself not wanting to take care of him or not wanting to be with him every waking moment.
Life has been hard, I'm doing everything alone with no family or real friends (that live near me, anyway). Things are bad but they can be worse. I'm completely grateful for everything I do have. I'm extremely spiritual,
not religious. I believe there is a huge difference. I believe in God, I believe in evil, and I believe in souls, spirits, and the afterlife. I also believe labeling yourself a certain religion means you have to act a certain way and be expected of certain things, and the God I know, pray to, and believe in would not dictate or condemn me for how I worship Him or love Him. I believe everything you do is a matter of choice - and that evil never wins in the long run.
The road ahead is going to be hard. I'm praying that I will meet a great guy one day who will be an amazing male/father figure to Tyler - and I believe God will grant me that wish if I stay patient. I will never lose faith, no matter what. Feel free to parentank me if you want to be friends! I only ask that you not be a stranger. Also, feel free to ask me questions. I don't bite. . . well, hard that is!

24 weeks: This is when I started showing. That happened over night too!

12-17-10: Positive pregnancy test!
1-2-11: Pregnancy confirmed again with urine, as well with a blood sample.
1-6-11: First appointment! I didn't hear the heartbeat but it was seen on an ultrasound!
2-15-11: Second appointment, heard heartbeat for the first time, 172BPM!
3-17-11: Third appointment, heartbeat is great and growing great!
4-6-11: 20 week scan, and it's a boy! He weighs approximately 13 ounces

4-11-11: He's doing perfect on my 4th appt!
5-20-11: Reconfirmed a little boy with a level II sonogram again, and he has grown so much! He now weighs 2 pounds and 5 ounces! 157 BPM

5-26-11: I got the results from my repeat anatomy, he's perfect! My doctor said he had a "growth spurt" which is normal, most babies have that from around 25-30 weeks. I also had glucose testing done (longest hour of waiting EVER). I find out my results when I head back to the doctor, which is in two weeks. Hello third trimester and two week visits - fun!
6-16-10: My lab results came back abnormal, I have a chance to have gestational diabetes. Anything over 135 in blood sugar is concerning, mine was 140. Although it wasn't that bad, my doctor was still concerned, so I have to go in tomorrow to do a three hour glucose test and find out the results on Thursday, June 23rd. Let's hope I don't have it, I don't need more compications lol. I also lost 5 pounds, but my doctor wasn't concerned considering I gained so much one month. He says I'm on target now. As for Tyler, his heartbeat was great. I love going to the doctor and hearing his precious, healthy heartbeat!

7-9-11: Switched hospitals, I'm going to the one near my house now. I couldn't handle the traveling.
7-13-11: He had a strong, healthy heartbeat. I didn't know the BPM but it sounded very consistent. My stomach is measuring at 34.5 weeks and I actually am 34 weeks - so everything looks absolutely perfect and he's growing consistently! I got a referral for another sonogram, but it takes a long time to get an appointment. I hope they can squeeze me in before he gets here.
7-21-
11: My appointments are weekly now. My stomach measured 35 weeks, which makes sense because I was 34w 5d pregnant! Everything matches up and my doctor said he has an extremely strong heartbeat, no irregularities which is a great sign! I have one final sonogram August 10th. So I'll either see him one last time before he's born or
. . . he'll already be here! WOOOT. My doctor is going to check for dilation from week 36
(next week!) until he's born
. I can't believe how fast this is all going! I'm due in about a month. Wow I'm gonna be a mommy!!!!! <3
7-22-11: I
finally went through the three-hour glucose test. It was horrible. I got blood drawn four times and since one of the nurses suck she left me a huge bruise on my arm! Lol. Well, tomorrow I should find out whether I have the diabeties or not, and hopefully I don't but it's more likely I do because of my symptoms and my mom had it with 2/3 pregnancies, just not with me. If I do have it, I hope it is
just gestational and not regular diabetes but we shall see, I suppose. I'll make an update soon enough!
7-27-11:
Bad news: Positive gestational diabetes test results (Eh, how surprising!).
Good news: Tyler is officially birth ready by being head down, and I'm also 1cm dilated!
8-03-11: I had a non-stress test and my doctor was a little concerned because his heart rate was showing "decellerations". She knew it was probably nothing but sent me upstairs to L&D anyway. They did another non-stress test and figured the decellerations were from two things: He's an extremely active baby, so he's probably pulling the umbilical cord, causing his heartrate to go up and down, and also because I'm experiencing contractions, but very small ones and of course that affects the heart rate as well. I had slightly a little more progress from last week, I was 1cm, now I'm like 1 1/4 cm dilated. Haha, nothing special. Baby is fine though, they said he is super healthy, probably "too healthy for his own good!" <<< lol.
8-04-11: I swear I was receiving real contractions last night, and probably was. They were 15 minutes apart consistently for a while and then became inconsistent, so I just went to bed.
8-05-11: I feel A LOT more better than yesterday. I still have small pains/cramps, but it's
nothing compared to what I felt last night. Looks like my mommy won't be receiving her grandbaby on her 50th birthday! Oh well, he'll come out when he's ready. I need my little man to be big, strong and healthy!

8-08-11: Contractions
suck. I mean seriously, come, but only if consistent! They are not consistent and extremely uncomfortable/painful. Looks like this is going to be torture for another 19 days. He needs to just come out, I feel horrible, beyond the word!
8-10-11: Tyler's due-date was moved up to August 24th. He approximately weighs 7 pounds 3 ounces and should be around or near 7 pounds 8 ounces by birth. Doctor appointment is in a few hours, I'll update with more!

8-17-11: Small contractions, he's showing signs of coming soon!
8-23-11: Tyler Salvatore Marshal Marome is here! Delivered via C-section after 24 hours of labor and two hours of pushing @2am, exactly. He weighed 9 pounds 3 ounces and I couldn't be a happier mommy!!!!!!!!

32 weeks: This is when I obviously started to show and could not hide my pregnancy if I even tried.
34 weeks: I was still carrying high. I dropped in like literally two days, haha!
37 weeks: Huge, but cute tummy. He's almost here!!
